    Our region<\/h3>\n

    Important region by its size (43 698 kms2, Rhone-Alpes is including 8 departments : Ain, Ard\u00e8che, Dr\u00f4me, Is\u00e8re, Loire, Savoie and Haute-Savoie).<\/p>\n

    Its heritage presents a large range of historical monuments, museums, cultural centres and vaste green bits, which will enjoy tourists looking for diversity..<\/p>\n

    Represented by its famous administrative center of Lyons, Rhone-Alpes is the second region of France due to its surface and its 6th position in Europe. Between Paris and French Riviera, close to Switzerland and Italy, with the international Airport Lyon Satolas and famous rail ways and motorways.<\/li>

    Histoire<\/h3>\n

    Marked by a man occupation from 30 ‘ 000 years before JC, the region contains numerous sites of discovery of the housing environment of this aera, as well as a rich collection of first known humanity pieces of art, as it is the case in the Chauvet cavern (Ard\u00e8che).<\/p>\n

    Strongly influenced by the Roman occupation, our region presents a strong architectural heritage, as in Lyon, city classified in the World heritage of UNESCO<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    If you are enthusiast with industrial heritage, our region will know how to fill your passion, by an history rich in innovations, as it is the case of the silk trade, thrown by Fran\u00e7ois 1st ( 1536 ), relaunched by Napoleon in the middle of the XIXth century, or still by the rich mining past of the urban area of Saint Etienne.<\/p>\n<\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    \nGallo-romane civilization museum The Museum of the Gallo-Roman civilization, the practically buried building of which is integrated into the archaeological park of ancient theaters contains multiple collections of steles, statues, bronzes and mosaics of Gallo-Roman period. The archaeological park is constituted by a theater, considered as the oldest of Gaule and a Gallo-Roman od\u00e9on with a unique juxtasposition in the antique world. <\/cite><\/blockquote><\/div>

    \nThe ” Maison des M\u00e9tiers”
    \nin Saint Symphorien Sur Coise
    \nLa \"Maison des M\u00e9tiers\" was founded in 1988 by retired people of different activities. The purpose is to : maintain, become know, pass on this industrial heritage (tools, machines and know-how (processes & gestures) <\/cite><\/blockquote><\/div>

    \nThe “mus\u00e9e du chapeau” in Chazelles sur LyonAt the beginning of the XXth century, Chazelles-sur-Lyon knows its peak and becomes the main city of production of the luxury felt hat in France (28 factories and 2 500 workers in 1930). ,Its fame exceeds widely the national borders with brands such as Fl\u00e9chet, France, Morreton.<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/div>

    \nThe ” Museum of Modern Art ” in Saint-Etienne The Museum of modern art emanates from the Museum of Art & Industry of which it constitutes one of the sections.It takes place , today still, with the Museum of Mining and the renovated Museum of Art and Industry , in a complex of museums of which one of the essential missions was, since the end of the XIXth century, the gathering of collections of art pieces from the industrial aera.<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/div>
